Baotou Secondary Rare Earth Alloy Co., Ltd. has received approval from the Inner Mongolia Industry and Information Technology Department to build a high-purity rare earth metals project with an annual production capacity of 5,000 tonnes. The company will invest about RMB131 million (USD18.04 million) in total to build the project at Bayan Obo industrial park in Baotou, Inner Mongolia, with construction until 2025. The project will mainly produce high-purity rare earth metals, including 3,000tpa of praseodymium-neodymium metal and 2,000tpa of cerium metal. 6
