Pengsheng Metallurgical to build 140ktpa silicon metal project

Inner Mongolia Pengsheng Metallurgical Furnace Charge Co., Ltd. plans to build a silicon metal project in Urad Middle Banner (Wulate Zhongqi), Inner Mongolia for a total investment of RMB900 million (USD125 million), according to a notice released by the local government.
Construction of the project mainly includes six 39000kVA submerged arc furnaces, a 1×40MW cogeneration unit and other associated environmental protection and public facilities. When fully operational, the project will be able to produce 140,000 tonnes per annum of industrial silicon.
