Baoshan sees 9.2% rise in Jan-Jul silicon metal output

China's Baoshan city reported a 13.5% decrease in the added value of industrial output by companies above designated size in the first seven months of 2024, 0.9 percentage points slower than the Jan-June period.
From January to July, Baoshan produced 159,000 tonnes of silicon metal, up by 9.2% from the prior year period. The production of polysilicon increased by 76.9% YoY to 71,800 tonnes while that of monocrystalline silicon declined by 23.1% YoY to 33,800 tonnes.
