With a total investment of around RMB500 million (USD70.97 million), the plant started trial production in June 2024 and its No . 1 production line reached full capacity of 2,500tpa in August . The No . 2 production line, also with a production capacity of 2,500tpa, is expected to become fully operational this October, when the project would be able to produce 5,000tpa of Lithium-ion Enrichment Material (LiEM) used for extracting lithium from brine, with a recovery rate of more than 95%.
The company said LiEM can be used for lithium extraction from more than 90% of the world's brine resources, including high magnesium/lithium ratio salt lake brine in Northwestern China, high sodium/lithium ratio salt lake brine in South America, and oil and gas associated brine in Russia.
