BAI begins production at 1Mtpa alumina refinery in Indonesia

The 1Mtpa Smelter Grade Alumina Refinery (SGAR) project, operated by PT Borneo Alumina Indonesia (BAI) and constructed by China Aluminum International Engineering Co., Ltd., commenced production on December 30, 2024.
As the first state-owned alumina project in Indonesia, it is jointly invested by PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (Inalum) and PT Aneka Tambang (Antam). The project includes two phases, each with production capacity of 1 million tonnes per annum of alumina.
