World's biggest magnesium hydride production line comes on stream in Yulin

On January 10, Dalian Funde Jinyu Clean Energy Co., Ltd. put into operation the world's biggest 150tpa magnesium hydride production line in Yulin, Shaanxi.
The project line is jointly built by Funde Jinyu and Yulin Innovation Institute of Clean Energy and covers a land area of 1,416 square meters. With a total investment of RMB50 million (USD6.82 million), it is so far the world's biggest production line for Mg-based solid hydrogen storage material, with an annual production capacity of 150 tonnes of magnesium hydride. The production line entered the commissioning phase in late December 2024 and produced the first batch of qualified products (hydrogen release> 7wt%) on January 10, 2025.
Magnesium hydride is a promising hydrogen storage material with high hydrogen storage capacity, and is eco-friendly and can be recycled. Funde Jinyu's production line can produce magnesium hydride with grade up to 90%-99% and can be reused for more than 1,000 times, with competitive prices.
