Prices of wire and rebar in major regions of China saw different trends during the month. Prices in North China and East China went up during the month mainly supported by the low market inventory, while those in South China dropped slightly on weak demand. In addition, Chinese export prices of wire rod and rebar moved down during the month because of the soft demand from overseas customers.
In the international market, prices of wire rod and rebar in Malaysia and India went down during the month on weak demand, while those in Thailand and Vietnam rose mainly supported by high prices of steel mills.
