Mengtie Special Steel launches solid waste utilization casting project

On March 6, Mengtie Special Steel (Inner Mongolia) Co., Ltd. commenced construction on its casting project for the comprehensive utilization of solid waste resources in Sunite Right Banner. The project, with an annual processing capacity of 500,000 tonnes, marks a significant step in the region's industrial development.
With a total investment of 120 million yuan (16.56 million US dollars), the project will utilize the world's leading electric arc furnace short-process smelting technology. Once completed, it is set to become the largest special steel production base in Inner Mongolia and even North China, with an estimated annual output value of more than 2.2 billion yuan (304 million US dollars), and help create 350 job opportunities.
The project is expected to address gaps in the field of industrial solid waste resource utilization in Sunite Right Banner, and contribute to the region's green, low-carbon, and sustainable development.
