World's first large-scale horizontal chrome plating line begins operation

On March 14, the work roll chrome plating project, jointly developed by Shanghai Court Roller Surface Treatment Co.,Ltd. and Baosteel Engineering & Technology Group Co., Ltd., was officially put into operation. This milestone marks the launch of the world's first large-scale horizontal chrome plating production line.
The production line has now achieved mass production capabilities, capable of manufacturing high-quality chrome-plated work rolls with a maximum diameter of 800mm, a length of 4,500mm, and a weight of 10 tonnes.
Utilizing cutting-edge technology and processes, the production line features a unique horizontal design that offers significant advantages over traditional vertical chrome plating systems. With faster processing speeds, lower energy consumption, and reduced emissions, it not only enhances production efficiency but also ensures more precise control and greater product stability. This breakthrough is expected to further drive the advancement and modernization of China's roll industry.
