A significant breakthrough has been achieved in the exploration of manganese ore in Maowanli, Southwest China's Sichuan Province, where geologists have confirmed more than 6 million tonnes of manganese ore resources, according to the Department of Natural Resource of Sichuan Province.
After extensive surveying, the project identified about 4.63 million tonnes of inferred manganese ore resources within the exploration area, with an additional estimated 1 . 44 million tonnes in previously uncharted zones between the survey area and the southern mining rights region, bringing the total to 6 . 07 million tonnes, within just one square kilometer of space . The resource scale of the single ore body has reached a medium level, addressing long-standing geological uncertainties that have hindered manganese ore research in northwest Sichuan for over 50 years . This discovery expands the region's prospecting potential and marks a major step forward in mineral exploration.
