On March 31, the first roll of silicon steel came off the 1250 continuous annealing line at Yueyang base of Hunan Panda New Materials Co
Hunan Panda's silicon steel project adopts a mature continuous annealing process and primarily produces cold-rolled non-oriented silicon steel and annealed sheets. As a critical functional material, silicon steel has traditionally been used in electric motors and standard transformers, while annealed sheets are now widely used in civilian applications such as doors, refrigerators, and cabinets.
The project helps close the capacity gap for deep processing of silicon steel in Central China. By enabling localized production and supply, it will reduce raw material procurement costs for nearby manufacturers . As a key supporting project in Hunan Province's new materials industry chain, its launch is expected to enhance regional supply chain efficiency and promote technological upgrades in steel material processing.
. , Ltd . , a subsidiary of Panhua Group . This milestone marks the full commissioning of a key process in the company's major thin steel sheet project, which has a production capacity of 2 . 5 million tonnes per annum.
