Tianshan Aluminum reports record high aluminum production

Tianshan Aluminum achieved record-high production for primary aluminum, alumina, and aluminum foil in 2024, according to the company's annual report.
The annual production of primary aluminum (ingot) reached 1,175,900 tonnes, up by about 1% YoY; alumina production was 2,278,900 tonnes, up by 7.55% YoY; aluminum foil and aluminum foil blank production hit 46,100 tonnes, a staggering growth of over 4,000%; high-purity aluminum production stood at 28,100 tonnes, a decrease of 34 . 35% YoY; and prebaked anode production totaled 548,900 tons, down by 8 . 35% YoY.
In 2024, the company sold 1,072,500 tonnes of primary aluminum, down by 4.3% YoY, 2,087,100 tonnes of alumina, up by 21 . 9% YoY, 25,600 tonnes of high-purity aluminum, up by 50 . 59% YoY, and 21,700 tonnes of aluminum foil and aluminum foil blank, surging by over 3,500% YoY.
During the reporting period, the company made steady progress in its overseas acquisitions and domestic mining operations, achieving self-sufficiency in upstream resource security. Notably, the company's first batch of bauxite from Guinea was shipped, the equity transfers for three bauxite mines in Indonesia were completed, and mining rights for its own bauxite mines in Guangxi were obtained . In the future, the company plans to mine 12 million tons of bauxite annually from its own resources.
Additionally, during the reporting period, the company's deep processing aluminum production lines began scaling up. High-purity aluminum sales saw a 50% year-on-year increase, the aluminum foil blank has an annualized production capacity of 180,000 tonnes, and the aluminum foil deep processing capacity is set to reach an annualized 160,000 tonnes, with full production expected by the end of 2025.
