Henan Steel Group achieves mass production of rare earth weathering steel

On June 20, the Anyang base of Henan Iron and Steel Group Co., Ltd. completed production of its first batch of over 2,000 tonnes of rare earth weathering steel, which will be used in a new energy photovoltaic project in western China.
This steel product offers key advantages such as excellent formability, corrosion resistance, and cost efficiency, representing another milestone for Henan Iron and Steel Group in the development of green, high-end materials.
The steel is produced using a low-oxygen rare earth alloying process, combined with integrated continuous casting technologies, including high superheat, high drawing speed, and intensive cooling. This marks the company's first mass production of multi-specification hot-rolled products.
