    China will implement a new national standard for heavy metal concentrates starting September 1, 2025, replacing the 2006 version currently in use. Under the updated GB/T 20424-2025 standard, imported copper, lead, zinc, nickel, tin, antimony, and cobalt concentrates will face stricter limits on hazardous elements such as arsenic, mercury, and cadmium.
