On July 20, Baise Yinhai Aluminium Corporation, a subsidiary of Guangxi Investment Group, began operating the first stage of its phase II energy-saving upgrade project
The project was launched in January this year and completed its first phase in just six months, 50 days ahead of schedule. Work on the second stage, which will upgrade an additional 50,000tpa of capacity, is now being accelerated.
. A total of 84 electrolytic cells, representing an annual production capacity of 50,000 tonnes, have resumed production . The upgrade boosted output by 8% and reduced overall energy consumption by about 700 kWh per tonne of aluminum, reaching industry-leading efficiency .
