Dongshan Aluminum updates on primary aluminum capacity replacement

Yidian Holding Group earlier announced plans to transfer primary aluminum production capacity of 240,000tpa from its Sanmenxia-based subsidiary Henan Hengkang Aluminum Co., Ltd. to Inner Mongolia Dongshan Aluminum Co., Ltd. The two sides have signed an internal transfer agreement and developed a capacity replacement plan, which has been released for public disclosure by the Department of Industry and Information Technology of Inner Mongolia.
According to the plan, Dongshan Aluminum will build 150 units of 600KA electrolytic cells at the Chifeng High-tech Industrial Park, with an approved capacity of 240,000 tonnes per year. Construction already started in August 2025, and production is expected by May 2026. So far, the company has completed capacity swap of 200,000tpa.
