By 2015, Liaoning Metallurgical and Geological Exploration Bureau plans to add 7 billion tons of iron ore, 280,000 tons of copper, 600,000 million tons of lead and zinc 12 tons of gold, 50 million tons of magnesium and 200 million tons of gypsum, and to generally develop 30-40 spots for mineral development.
Since the eleventh "Five-Year Plan", the Bureau has completed 63 geological prospecting projects, evaluated Anshan Heishilizi iron mine, Lizi Hill iron ore mine, Gongchangling mine II and other key national and provincial geological projects. The cumulative amount of additional iron ore resources reached 2,118,540,000 tons, including 73 . 82 million tons of rich iron ore, 304 . 8 million tons of magnesite, 280,000 tons of zinc, 265 tons of silver, 105 . 79 million tons of ore calcite, 200 million tons of dolomite mine, 160 million tons of oil shale, 60 . 53 million tons of gypsum, 514 . 96 million tons of limestone and 1 . 21 million tons of jade mine . There are seven large-scale iron ore mines in total, one large gypsum mine and 54 medium and small deposits.
