Imported aluminum scrap surcharge continues to increase in Guangdong

It is reported that the surcharge including tax and customs fee of imported aluminum scrap continues to rise in Guangdong this month, up by 3-36% quarter on quarter
Import policy for aluminum scrap has become tougher since the beginning of Q3 as relevant authorities take sterner examination and verify for environmental protection license and certain enterprises. Hence, import volume decreases and the cost increases as some enterprises get significant influence. The customs surcharge continues to rise in September as the surcharge of aluminum cuttings this month increases to RMB2,250/t from RMB1,650/t in August at Guangdong port, up by RMB600/t; while that of packaging aluminum 6063 reaches to RMB2,300/t this month from RMB2,250/t in August . The surcharges in Ningbo and Tianjin keep stable which are different from Guangdong.
