Chinese motor production down by 27.47% YOY in Jan

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 14 Feb 12 – According to China Automobile Industry Association, Chinese motor production was 1.3 millions in January, down by 23.2% compared with that in December 2011 and 27.47% year-on-year. At the same time, Chinese motors sales were 1.39 millions in January, down by 17.75% month-on-month and 26.39% year-on-year.
Firstly, due to the New Year holiday and Spring Festival holiday in January, Chinese effective work days decreased a lot compared with those in January 2010. What’s more, Chinese motor production and sales both kept high in December 2011. As a result, the production and sales saw obvious decreases in January month-on-month and year-on-year.
Participants in aluminum alloy market hold conservative attitudes towards Chinese motor market this year, and most of them think Chinese motors industry will see a steady and low increase in 2012.
