BEIJING (Asian Metal) 29 Feb 12 – Supported by the better performance of aluminum futures on LME during Chinese Spring Festival holiday, Chinese aluminum alloy export price increased in early February and keeps stable since then
One producer from Guangdong told that they offer USD2,340/t CIF Japan for ADC12 aluminum alloy from early February, up by almost USD100/t compared with that before the holiday, but the export market keeps weak these days.
“Most consumers are not willing to accept our higher offers and most of them are still negotiating about the price these days,” said the source, who indicated that most importers still have enough stocks at hand and are not in a hurry to purchase for the moment.
The company usually has 6,000t of aluminum alloy export per month.
Another producer from Jiangsu told that they offer USD2,320/t CIF Japan for ADC12 aluminum alloy since early February, up by USD100/t compared with that before the holiday. According to the source, most consumers have many stocks at hand right now since the import in late 2011 was high, so buyers are not in a hurry to import these days.
“Though consumers give inquires, their actual purchasing interest is low and deals are quite limited this month,” said the source, who told that the export market may recover in March.
The company exports about 1,000t of aluminum alloy per month.
