Chinese motors production down by 12.4% MOM in April

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 15 Apr 12 – According to China Automobile Industry Association, Chinese motor production and sales both were relatively steady in April.
As a general, Chinese motor production and sales both saw decreases month-on-month and increases year-on-year. According to the data, Chinese motor production was 1.65 million, down by 12.4% month-on-month and up by 7.8% year-on-year. The sales were 1.62 million, down by 11.7% month-on-month and up by 5.2% year-on-year.
Since March is usually the boom season for the automobile industry, production and sales both saw decreases month-on-month in April.
Due to the increases year-on-year in April, Chinese motors production saw slight increase of 0.47% year-on-year in the first four months and the sales decrease was also narrowed with 1.3% year-on-year.
