Chinese motor sales up by 3.2% YOY in the first five months of 2012

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 12 Jun 12 – According to China Automobile Industry Association, Chinese motor production and sales saw decreases in May month-on-month, but saw obvious increases year-on-year.
According to the data, Chinese motor production and sales were 1.57 and 1.60 million, down by 4.7% and 1.1% month-on-month respectively, but up by 16.2% and 16% year-on-year.
In the first five months of 2012, Chinese total motor production and sales reached 8 and 8.02 million, up by 3.2% and 1.7% year-on-year separately. For the first time, both the accumulated motor production and sales saw increases year-on-year.
However, with slack season coming, Asian Metal predicts Chinese motor production and sales will continue to see decrease month-on-month in June.
