Chinese motor sales up by 8.4% in Aug MOM

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 11 Sep 12 – According to China Industry Automobile Association, Chinese motors production and sales saw increases in August month-on-month and year-on-year.
The date showed that Chinese motor production in August was around 1.501 million, up by 4.5% month-on-month and 7.8% year-on-year. In addition, the sales were about 1.495 million in August, up by 8.4% month-on-month and 8.3% year-on-year.
In the first 8 months, Chinese motors production and sales reached 12.47 and 12.475 million, up by 5.2% and 4.1% year-on-year respectively.
Actually, Chinese motors production and sales saw continuous decreases from March to July. As a result, the situation of Chinese motors market seemed to get better from August as September and October are always the boom season for motor industry. In the meantime, attitudes in that market remain conservative, since most motor plants hold many stocks on hand, and if demand in those months may get better, plants should be in a hurry to clear out stocks instead of increasing output.
