Chinese motors sales down by 1.8% YOY in Sep

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 11 Oct 12 – According to China Automobile Industry Association, Chinese motors market performed weak in September, though it was boom season for motors industry.
According to the data, Chinese motors production and sales were 1.66 and 1.62 million respectively, up by 10.6% and 8.2% month-on-month, and up by 3.7% year-on-year, down by 1.8% separately.
In the first nine months of 2012, Chinese total motors production and sales were 14.13 and 14.09 million, up by 5% and 3.4% year-on-year respectively while they were 5.2% and 4.1% in the first eight months. As a result, the increasing pace slowed down.
The most important block in Chinese motors market was the decreasing motors output of Japanese joint ventures, affected by the tense situation between China and Japan in September.
