Japanese antimony trioxide demand recovers

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 13 Nov 12 – Antimony trioxide demand improves in Northeastern Japan as and the price of flame retardant antimony trioxide price holds firm at JPY950-1,050/kg (USD11.937-13.193/kg).
A Japan-based trader who imports antimony trioxide from China and sells in Japan told Asian Metal he offers JPY950-1,050/kg (USD11.937-13.193/kg) and maintains a low profit. “The demand is improving and deals are likely to increase,” said the source, adding that the profit is limited for per ton of antimony trioxide at this moment.
The source deals about 200tpm of antimony trioxide and expects the price to be stable in the following days after hearing about the price increase for antimony ingot supported by the collection.
Another Japan-based trader confirmed the demand for antimony trioxide in Japan increases a little as the Northeastern part (Fukushima, Miyagi and Iwate) are recovering from the earthquake on 11th March, 2011. The source offers about JPY1,000/kg (USD12.565/kg) for flame retardant antimony trioxide 99.5%min presently.
The source deals about 100t of antimony trioxide every month and thinks the price of antimony trioxide in Japan will hold firm in the near future.
