Asian Metal visits some silicon metal smelters in Chongqing

On 23rd to 25th May, 2012, Mr. Zhang Xiaoxin, Manager of Minor Metals Dept., and Ms Yin Xiaohong, Analysis of silicon metal, in Asian Metal, visited some silicon metal smelters in Chongqing, including Chongqing Wujiang Industry Group Trade Co., Ltd., Chongqing Wujiang Silicon Industry (Chongqing Wuling Silicon Co., Ltd. and Chongqing Wuling Photovoltaic Silicon Co., Ltd.) and Chongqing Huihao Silicon Co., Ltd.. Asian Metal visited the workshop of the above companies and learned the production technology. Asian Metal discussed the recent silicon metal market and the future trend in the rainy season with them.

Based on the manganese and silicon metal smelters of Wujiang Industry Group, Chongqing Wujiang Industry Group Trade Co., Ltd. achieved a trading volume of nearly 500,000 tons per year. Its main fields are silicon metal, manganese flake and manganese alloy, manganese ore, silica, coal and chemical materials, etc. Chongqing Wujiang Industry Group Trade Co., Ltd. has set comprehensive and strategic cooperation with many customers both home and abroad.

Established in 2009, Chongqing Wujiang Silicon Industry has two subsidies: Chongqing Wuling Silicon Co., Ltd. and Chongqing Wuling Photovoltaic Silicon Co., Ltd,. It mainly concerns the production and sales of silicon metal and its auxiliary products. Chongqing Wujiang Silicon Industry has already built eight furnaces of 9,000kva and six furnaces of 12,500kva. After being fully constructed, Chongqing Wujiang Silicon Industry will has 18 furnaces of 12,500kva (eight in Wuling Silicon and ten in Wuling Photovoltaic Silicon), and the capacity for silicon metal will reach 130,000-140,000tpy, which will be one of the biggest silicon metal smelters throughout the world.

Located in Xiushan, Chongqing Huihao Silicon Co., Ltd. has four furnaces of 6,300kva, mainly for the production of 5-5-3 grade silicon metal.
