Asian Metal visits some Shaanxi-based magnesium ingot plants

Ms. Zhang Jieyu, magnesium market analyst and Ms. Li Xin, manager of marketing department from Asian Metal visited some Shaanxi-based magnesium ingot plants during July 11-13, 2012.

Mr. Wang Tao, sales director from Fugu-based Jingfu Coal Chemical Co., Ltd. picked up visitors from Asian Metal in person at Yulin airport in Xi’an on the morning of July 11 and they arrived at Jingfu Coal Chemical after two hour’s drive. Mr. Shi Dong, general manager of the company greeted visitors with hospitality and exchanged views on magnesium ingot market with Zhang Jieyu. Mr. Shi noted stable magnesium ingot price at present. He said that magnesium ingot production tumbled due to gas supply shortage caused by sluggish semi coke market. In addition, it is difficult to keep a stable output of magnesium ingot as indicators in producing process for the material are difficult to control in summer, leading to increased costs for worker’s wages. Therefore, it is necessary for magnesium ingot price to keep firm even to hike regarding tight supply and growing costs seen from the whole. Zhang Jieyu expressed appreciation for the support and understanding from Jingfu Coal Chemical. Both sides then exchanged opinions about current conditions and trends of magnesium metal market. Mr. Shi showed his support for the upcoming Minor Metals Summit 2012 in Sanya held by Asian Metal.

Zhang Jieyu and Li Xin paid a visit to Jinwantong Magnesium Industry Co., Ltd. in Fugu, Shaanxi on the morning of July 12 and were welcomed by Mr. Bai Linwang, general manager and Mr. Su Peiliang, sales director of the company. Both sides discussed the future trends of magnesium metal market development and they both agreed that magnesium price will fluctuate in a narrow range in the future. Mr. Bai hoped Asian Metal to visit enterprises frequently so as to know more about thoughts from enterprises and he invited Zhang Jieyu and Li Xin to come again when they have time.

Manager Wei introduced obstacles like decreasing magnesium ingot caused by poor sales of semi coke in Shannxi and confirmed the continuously firm price for magnesium ingot in a short time whilst he hoped Asian Metal to play a role in the guidance of market prices.

Zhang Jieyu and Li Xin visited Moyuan Dingtai Magnesium Industry Co., Ltd. in Shenmu on the morning of July 13 and they were received by Mr. Qi Jiancheng, the sales director of the company. Visitors from Asian Metal looked around the plant of the company and had a conversation with Mr. Qi over the current conditions of magnesium market. The company is an industrial enterprise engaged in magnesium metal products of high quality and related industrial chain processing with favorable sales.
