TANBREEZ Mining A/S visits Asian Metal

Greg Barnes, the Chairman of TANBREEZ Mining A/S and Kersti Partelpoeg, the environmental economist of TANBREEZ Mining A/S came to visit Asian Metal on the afternoon of 8th,2012, talking about the rare earth ore located in Greenland and the heavy rare earth market in China with Maggie Lee, analyst of rare earth market.
The TANBREEZ Project is owned by a Greenlandic company called TANBREEZ Mining Greenland A/S. This company was established in 2010 by its parent Australian based company Rimbal Pty Ltd. In 2001, Rimbal Pty Ltd obtained the licence to explore the Project area and have carried out a number of investigations in the license area.
Greg Barnes introduced their ore in Greenland in detail. He told us that TANBREEZ is one of the largest heavy rare earth deposits in the world with estimates of greater than 4 billion tonnes of ore. The deposit also contains a significant portion of the world’s zirconia, niobium, tantalum and light rare earths with no uranium or thorium issues. Kersti Partelpoeg also confirmed that Tanbreez doesn’t have any Thorium or Uranium issues, which is very important because Greenland Government has the zero tolerance policy. All other deposits have the pollutants issues (containing U & Th).
Greg Barnes also revealed that TANBREEZ has completed the facility study and they will produce rare earth products in 2013 or 2014. They talked with Maggie Lee about the rare earth market in China and abroad.
Greg Barnes and Kersti Partelpoeg speak highly of Asian Metal and they hope to cooperate with Asian Metal further in the future.
