Advanced Material Japan Corporation visits Asian Metal

Mr. Kohei Yamada from Advanced Material Japan Corporation visits Asian Metal on December 3rd, 2012 and shared market information and opinions about the market situation with related analysts from Asian Metal.
Advanced Material is a trader dealing in selenium, tellurium, antimony, tungsten and titanium. The company is also a producer of cadmium. It has been been a member of Asian Metal for years.
Mr. Yamada talked with Victor Hoo, senior analyst of Selenium and Tellurium market , and Virginia Liu, assistant of Selenium and Tellurium market at Asian Metal, about current market performance. Currently it is already exporting selenium to China, India and other countries. Through years of cooperation, it has been known to many Chinese importers. In the future years, Advanced Material hopes to get better access to the end users. Mr. Yamada asked about the spot market prices and selenium consumption in glass industry. The company is interested in sources of copper anode from global markets for the production of selenium. As to tellurium, Mr. Yamada expressed that it is difficult to import tellurium and sell to Japanese end users as the procurement price is much higher that sale prices in Japan, depressed by the low demand.
Mr. Yamada exchanged ideas with June Cai, analyst of Cadmium market at Asian Metal, about the Chinese cadmium ingot market demand and import prices. He expressed that Advanced Material produces 100 tons of cadmium ingot monthly and the company is willing to export to Chinese end users directly. He hopes Asian Metal could be helpful to expand their access. Demand of cadmium in Japan is small and thus most materials are sold to global buyers.
Mr. Yamada also talked with Emily Zhang and Daly Lu, analysts of Tungsten market at Asian Metal. Advanced Material imports APT/BTO, tungsten powder and tungsten metal from China directly. As a major trader in local market, the company does not have plan to make purchase for the moment due to sluggish economic situation. With consumption decreasing continuously, Japan tungsten market is expected to keep dull in the coming months.
Advanced Material expects to meet Asian Metal next year in the minor metal conferences
