Asian Metal meets Premier African Minerals
Elliott Day, tungsten market analyst for the Asian Metal London office, met with George Roach, Chairman & CEO of Premier African Minerals Ltd, on Friday 15th March 2013 to discuss the company’s portfolio of near term resource mining projects located in Southern and West Africa.
Premier African Minerals is an AIM quoted multi-commodity exploration stage mining company with a strategy to acquire, explore and develop natural resource projects that offer rapid advancement up the value chain.
Premier’s flagship project is the RHA tungsten project located in the prospective multi-commodity Kamativi Tin Belt in north-west Zimbabwe. Premier is targeting a resource of up to 10 million tonnes at a grade of 0.12% to 0.17% WO3 and 86,000 tonnes at 2.25% WO3. During the meeting Mr Roach stressed that the project had the potential to be developed into a low capital and low cost tungsten mine in the near term, and earmarked late 2013 as a time he would target the project moving into production. Mr Roach explained that a conceptual mine study was in progress assessing whether the mine has the potential to be redeveloped into an open pit operation or high-grade underground operation. Mr Roach ended by stating that he would update Asian Metal with the results of the next drilling programme and exploration work at the RHA tungsten in the near term.
Premier African Minerals is continuing with exploration programs on other key project sites including an exploration stage project in Southern Togo focusing on Phosphates, the Dapaong Gold project, also located in Togo, and the Katete Rare Earth project in Zimbabwe. Mr Roach was keen to highlight the potential for this exciting REE project, stating that the site had previously been explored by Anglo American for phosphate but had identified the presence of significant REE mineralisation.
