Asian Metal visits Yunnan Grande Silicon Logistics, Guichu Logistics and Nujiang Great Union Silicon

During December 3rd to 4th, Bruce Zhang, General Manager of Minor Metal Department and Susan Yin, Senior Analyst of Minor Metal Department from Asian Metal visited Yunnan Grand Silicon Logistics Co., Ltd., Yunnan Guichu Logistics Co., Ltd. and Nujiang Great Union Silicon Industry Co., Ltd. and engaged in discussions on silicon metal market in 2014 with the companies and shared ideas for the market trend in the dry season.

Bruce Zhang and Susan Yin met Mr. Jian Ding, President of Yunnan Grand Silicon Logistics Co., Ltd. and Mr. Hong Xie, President of Yunnan Guichu Logistics Co., Ltd. on the afternoon of December 3rd, and discussed the silicon metal inventory changes, market situation and the future market trend in dry season. The two companies were officially merged on 1st June, 2014. Currently, they are operating under the two company names, but the warehousing and logistics business and finance are under unified administration. Yunnan Grand Silicon Logistics Co., Ltd. and Yunnan Guichu Logistics Co., Ltd. are two modern logistics enterprises engaged in the storage and transportation, as well as information services relating to silicon metal.

On the morning of December 4th, Susan Yin visited the warehouses of Yunnan Grand Silicon Logistics Co., Ltd. and Yunnan Guichu Logistics Co., Ltd. Mr. Jian Ding introduced the recent shipment situation. Yunnan entered dry season with increasing power price, and some smelters chose to decrease output or stop production. However, as a reaction to the weak demand home and abroad and the large stocks on the spot market, the silicon metal prices have not picked up obviously.

On the afternoon of December 4th, Susan Yin visited the Kunming office of Nujiang Great Union Silicon Industry Co., Ltd. and shared market thoughts with Mr. Zhizhong Chen, Vice President and Ms Fengxian Kui, Sales Manager of the company. Nujiang Great Union Silicon Industry Co., Ltd. is a professional producer of chemical grade silicon metal. Mr. Chen introduced the production situation of their plant and the overall capacity-expanding situation in Chinese silicon metal industry this year. Moreover, Mr. Chen noted that they are building new furnaces of 25,500kva. Located in the industry park of Lushui County in Nujiang State, Nujiang Great Union Silicon Industry Co., Ltd. was established in 2005 and mainly deals with silica exploitation, silicon smelting, silicon materials processing, purchase and sale of mineral products and so on.
